Agathokles was the tyrant of Syracuse from 317-289 BC. and the king of Sicily from 304-289 BC.
On the obverse is the goddess Artemis, goddess of the hunt. Artemis was the equivalent of the Roman goddess Diana.
On the reverse is a “winged thunderbolt”.
